i've been buying ON gold standard for years. Most proteins have essentially the same things in it and I always found this one reasonably priced and good tasting.
Someone who wrote a review before me mentioned the increasing demand for milk leading to a price increase. That is in part true but it is also due to something most people would not think of. Ethanol 85 biofuel. The new "flex fuel" for cars being produced raises the price of corn (because the fuel is produced from corn). Corn feed is generally what farmers give to their cows, so it is more expensive to feed the livestock and therefore more expensive to produce milk and any other dairy products (like whey). So just so all of you know, its not whey manufacturers that are giving us the shaft. Their prices are going up, and in turn so do ours. If a company's prices have yet to go up, they probably will. This price increase will hit most everyone, eventually. Don't be surprised when you see other foods increasing in price in result of biofuel too. |
